Mount Merapi, the most active volcano in Indonesia, has erupted and spewed out searing gas clouds, hot ash and lava that traveled up to seven kilometers down its slopes on Saturday local time. The volcano also unleashed a column of hot clouds that rose 100 meters into the air, the National Disaster Management Agency said.
