Drill Of The Week: Back Tuck Progression (Basic) Purpose: An introduction to help athletes develop an understanding of the "tuck" skill as well as learn the basic "tuck" body shapes with controlled landings. Prerequisite: Backwards Roll, Multiple Standing and Running BHS Drill One(Top Left): The athlete begins standing at the top of a wedge mat which is on a raised surface approximately 24" inches tall. The athlete should standing with their arms crossed behind their head hands near shoulders. C

#TRICKTUESDAY // Back Tuck One of the most common problems with back tucks is when an athlete throws their head back on their take-off. This leads to other problems like leaning the shoulders backward and arching the back, which reduces height and encourages backward travel. It also makes it difficult to reach for a tight tuck position. Instead, it's better to keep the head in a neutral position. So, how do we fix this? A common method is to have an athlete hold a piece of foam under their chin
