As prime fishing season continue across the state, NDOW is working to keep waters stocked with catchable fish. All fish we stock in eastern Nevada, and even some in waters in central Nevada, come from the Gallagher Fish Hatchery in Ruby Valley! Our latest video takes a deep dive into the Naches Hatchery in Yakima County. Naches supplies fish to over 60 lakes throughout Yakima, Kittitas, and Benton counties. Each year, the hatchery raises over 100,000 catchable rainbow trout, 8,000 jumbo trout, and 300,000 kokanee. They also have a high lake program that consists of cutthroat and rainbow trout.
