Another view. Slow motion. In most throwing or actions such as a tennis serve, the non-throwing(hitting)-arm elbow moves from extension to flexion. This elbow collapsing movement delays the trunk and keeps the non-throwing wide shoulder forward allowing the individual to complete the throw without shoulder over-rotation.
