Plant in September-October and they’ll flower in November! Crocus sativus are hardy bulbs and can be planted 10-15cm deep in pots or borders outside. You can also grow them indoors if you like! They’ll soon start to sprout and you should get your first blooms within just a couple of months. Pick the red stigmas on the day the flowers open and leave to dry for 2-3 weeks on a dry cloth or kitchen paper. Store in a jar once dried and use the saffron in cooking or hot drinks.
