Machine Shop Tour — Day 5 Yesterday I highlighted my Tree vertical mill, so today it’s only fitting to showcase its classic counterpart — the Bridgeport Vertical Mill. This one is a Series 1 equipped with a 2J head, running a 1.5 HP motor with infinitely variable spindle speeds from 60 to 4200 RPM. One advantage this machine has over the Tree is the 4-axis DRO from DRO PROS, which makes setup and machining far more precise and efficient. Everyone needs a Bridgeport in the shop — even if it ends
