Check out this antique tractor! This 1908 Friction Drive is the first model tractor the International Harvester Company built. It’s powered by a 20 horsepower horizontal International gasoline engine with one speed forward and one speed reverse. The engine slides on a set of rollers and pushes into a large friction wheel that moves the tractor forward. An arm swings upward with another friction wheel to move the tractor in reverse. These were only built for a few years and were quickly replaced
