11 years ago, at 2:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on January 19, 2006, the New Horizons spacecraft lifted off from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on a Lockheed-Martin Atlas V. After swinging past Jupiter in February 2007, New Horizons flew by Pluto on July 14, 2015.
