Here are a few snippets of my current pastel project on the easel 😁. As I'll be drawing the entire Lioness in this piece, her face and therefore the ears are fairly small and that can make capturing fine details tricky. But by focusing on one layer at a time and using correct pencil technique the tiniest of details can be achieved. To make each detail count, the values and contrast have to be right.
