A Ribbon eel (aka the leaf-nosed moray eel or bernis eel), rarely seen outside their burrows. These eels, a type of moray, change color as they age. At first they all start off black with a yellow dorsal fin, before changing bright blue with yellow mouths and patches of yellow on the dorsal fin, before their body turns yellow. They are thought to be protandric hermaphrodites (animals which turn from male to female) with all ribbon eels beginning as males and developing female parts as they matur
